Welcome to Scouting!

Welcome Scout Parent Training Part 1!

Greetings and thank you for taking time to participate in this online course. As your Cubmaster I will work together with you and your child to provide a rewarding Scouting experience. As a parent, you’re a primary role model for your child. Scouting provides a time-tested structure that helps bond parent/child development through group and individual activities, recognition and advancement. Your child needs your encouragement, guidance and participation along the Scouting path.

I also have a son in the Pack and know first hand how important a quality family program is. My family and I have lots of fun and adventure through the Scouting program and all of us enjoy it. It is my goal to share this experience with you and your family by helping you understand what Scouting gives and what you can give back. Follow along with the information presented and "Do Your Best" to become the example your son and family need.

This is the first of a 4 part parent training program designed to give you the necessary tools and information required to guide your family and receive the most out of the Scouting program. When completed, you will be familiar with the entire program from Cub Scouts thru Boy Scouts. It is my hope and desire that you and your son will continue in Scouting and he will reach the rank of Eagle Scout. Upon completion of all 4 parts, you will have earned your Scout Parent badge and will receive it at a Pack meeting. Your family will present this award to you. Not only is the achievement a great representation of your commitment to our Pack but also an important example to your son.

You are a Scout Parent and your participation is key to your son's participation. The more you are involved the more he will be. Scouting is an extremely rewarding program for your family. Now let's begin by explaining your role as a Scout Parent.
